During our daily Pre-Kindy program, 3-4-year-old children will be immersed in the wonders of nature through play and exploration, fostering holistic development and a lifelong love of learning, and the environment.

Our Pre-Kindy program is a great opportunity for your child to benefit from self-directed adventure play in a supported, wild space.

What do we do at Little Wildlings?

Our Pre-Kindy program introduces young children to the wonders of outdoor learning and nature exploration through BUSH KINDY:

1. Outdoor Learning Environment: We prioritise outdoor play and learning in natural settings such as bushland or forest areas. This environment allows children to engage with nature directly, fostering a deep connection with the natural world.

2. Play-Based Curriculum: We believe that children learn through play, and emphasise learning through hands-on experiences, exploration, and discovery. This approach supports children's natural curiosity and creativity.

3. Nature Exploration: We encourage children to explore and interact with the natural environment. This could involve activities such as nature walks, identifying plants and animals, learning about the seasons, and engaging in sensory experiences like mud play or building with natural materials.

4. Holistic Development: We believe that a childhood immersed in nature supports children's holistic development, including their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Outdoor play has been shown to enhance motor skills, resilience, problem-solving abilities, and social interactions among young children.

5. Environmental Education: We will incorporate elements of education for sustainability throughout our day. Children may learn about sustainability, conservation, and the importance of caring for the natural world around them.

6. Qualified Educators: We are qualified early childhood teachers and educators who are passionate about outdoor learning and child development. It is our role to create a nurturing and supportive environment for children to thrive in.

7. Parental Involvement: We encourage parental involvement and have an open-door policy, fostering a sense of community and shared learning.

8. Community Involvement: We leave the gate on a regular basis, encouraging the children to get involved in our local community through walks to our local natural spaces.

It is likely, however, that your child will be much more interested in:

  • Playing in freshwater creeks

  • Going on bush walks and spotting wildlife

  • Making bush crafts

  • Using hand tools

  • or playing in our “mud kitchen”

which we wholeheartedly support, encourage, and will follow their lead!
